Background

Degsuf Foundation is a non-governmental and non-political organization dedicated and committed to support humanitarian relief, development based and social developments through comprehensive support of the targeted communities and stakeholders including partner organizations and donors. The organization was established in Mogadishu in January 2010 by a group of intellectuals who stood up voluntarily and devoted to work for their social development on the sectors of education, health, Nutrition, WASH, Food Security and livelihoods, protection and peace promotion and conflict resolution for sustainable peace and coexistence as well as agitation for respect to Human rights

To be empowered and enhanced by the local human resources and it should not be limited because of the inefficient initiatives for public promotion as it occurs often. It has an optimal vision, which targets through social development to improve the quality of the human life and promotion for peace, stability, and democracy, as well as social Development Services

Work with all relevant stakeholders to alleviate suffering and improve quality of lives of Somali communities and ensure peaceful coexistence and respect to Human Rights through implementation of our programmes

 

Objectives

Improve quality of lives of Somali communities as well as ensure peaceful coexistence and respect to Human rights through implementation of our programmes.

  • Support measures, which increase food production or income-generation and employment opportunities.
  • Facilitated and participation in the humanitarian efforts of the international community in all their efforts to reach vulnerable groups in the operational areas of the organizational through partnership.
  • Promote the capacities of small-scale business, farmers and livestock herders by providing them with tailor-made trainings courses, expertise and financial assistance.
  • Address the economic and social problems facing poor people through three interrelated principles: Participation, Equity and sustainability.
  • Implement short-term/long term educational strategies and programmes to fight against illiteracy
  • Systematic treatment of acutely malnourished children and pregnant and lactating mother by accessing and using quality series for the management of acute malnutrition in southern Regions of Somalia.
  • Provide access to basic primary health care services to the vulnerable pregnant, lactating and children in southern Regions of Somalia.
  • Mobilize cross-root communities in order to enhance their awareness on democracy, peace, human rights protection and their potentials as individuals and groups.
  • Increase access to safe water, sanitation conditions and hygiene practices in our operational areas in Somalia
  • Ensure child protection and respond to Gender-Based Violence against vulnerable communities
